Usambara trek Itinerary for Kilimanjaro Acclimatization
Pre tour.
(day 1)
Arrival in Lushoto, Check in the Hotel and visit Friends of Usambara Tourist information center for booking the tour. Wonder around town on your own. When arriving on Sunday or Thursday visit Lushoto market day very colorful.

Day 2 (6-7hrs):
8:30 breakfast.
Drive to Soni 800m above the sea level (30 minutes) then climb Kwemongo peak 2220 meters via the village of Shashui and Kwemula, On the way back to Soni trek via Mponde forest, visit traditional irrigation projects and catch the bus back to Lushoto for Overnight again at the hotel.
Day 3: (7-8 hrs)
8:30 breakfast.
Trek to Magamba rain forest with packed lunch and climb the roof of the Usambara via JK trail to the Migambo peak (2400m) then descend to Lukozi (1200m) above the sea level for overnight at the campsite or local guest house.
Day 4 (7-8 hrs)
8:30 Breakfast.
Then trek through agriculture land to Chambogo peak 2300m and descending 1200m to Rangwi convent for overnight. On evening climb Mzogoti peak 2200m.
Day 5 (7-8 hrs)
8:30 Breakfast .
Trekking through the village to Shagayu forest and lunch organized by the local family at Sunga. Visit the pottery village for pottery workshop and trekking along the escarpment of the mountain to Mtae View point for overnight. Kilimanjaro Tsavo west Kenya can be seen on a clear day.
Day 6
Catch the early bus at 4.30 am back to Lushoto for Dar es Salaam or Arusha.
